Little Shoppe in the Village: Consignments, Antiques and Gifts
By Hilary Brady
As a decorator, professional stager and Realtor, Peggy Stone combines these talents to assist her customers and clients with their home furnishing needs.
After
completing a fund-raising event that involved decorating a local green home
with repurposed furniture, Peggy found that all of her shopping trips for
acceptable décor required visits out of town. Frustrated that there was not a
local store that offered gently used and antique furniture, she took matters
into her own hands.
In August of 2009 Peggy opened Little Shoppe in the Village, a consignment shop that brings a combination of new, vintage and antique home furnishings to the Leland area.
Customers clamor over the quality and diversity of items.
“Some shops focus on one particular style,” explains Peggy. “We have such a broad market, so we sell a little bit of everything.”
Little Shoppe in the Village offers big and small items, new and used. All forms of furnishings, from chairs to china cabinets, metal planters to mermaid art, accessories and Adirondacks can be found in the recently expanded shop.
“We are happy to announce that we have two additional rooms and are now carrying new furniture from Carolina Beach Furniture. We get great consignments, sometimes even new furnishings our of model homes,” says Peggy. “We have something for everyone.”
